Remember Me 请记住我 (qǐng jì zhù wǒ).

Traditional Chinese scrolls containing text have been a form of record keeping that through its easy portability, allowed it to be shared across land and generations. It also, was revered as a beautiful art form showcasing brushwork through painting. Because of the serendipitous functionality of documentation and art, I utilize this process for my ongoing series Remember Me 请记住我 (qǐng jì zhù wǒ). However, instead of calligraphy or brushwork, I chose to display an archival digital photo portrait. The blending of a traditional process with a contemporary photographic concept to archive the existence of Chinese adoptees of queer and transgender identity.
